The Saboteur Map Bug Patch
Click to expand.I bought the game cheap earlier in the summer and with the 1.3 beta patch and a RP profile which disables four of my threads the game runs fine. Forced anti-aliasing even works. Sometimes if you drive too fast the scenery doesn't update properly but it is rare. Apart from ugly shadow draw-in and pop up the game looks really good, especially the lead character who is distinctive, well animated and, well, looks great.
There's a bug with the map though at resolutions above 1280x768 where the place markers don't move with the map itself, effectively making it useless but, apart from that, the game runs fine. The game is also surprisingly good with a large overworld and plenty to do although it does get a little repetitive as all sandbox games do eventually. Love the atmospheric touches too like the way everything is black and white (except for the red of the Nazi's flags) until you free the area then it is coloured in. An update to my previous post of 1st October 2010 now I've switched back to NVIDIA. I'm currently playing The Saboteur again after being a little disappointed by the glitchy performance on my former HD 5870 CFX setup which required using RadeonPro to disable cores. Even then the game had a tendency to be slow updating textures when driving too fast. Anyway, with the GTX 580 and the latest 270.51 betas the game is an absolute joy to play.
Dec 8, 2009 - The Saboteur is a action-packed, free-roaming sandbox game that takes place in. For The Saboteur on the PC, a GameFAQs message board topic titled 'Is the map broken for anyone else?' This is actually kind of a hilariously retarded bug. When I zoom out or scroll the map, the overlays get out of place / don't zoom out with the map. Razobratj blender braun 4162 3. Not using any patch either.
I'm using the 0x00411245 AA flag and forced 4xMSAA and 2xSSAA and getting 55-60 fps all the time even when driving through Paris in the rain. No matter how fast I drive the texture streaming works fine (unlike before) and I don't have to disable CPU cores either so it seems that most of the issues came from using AMD graphics cards. I did some digging around and it looks like the game had some serious issues with ATI graphics hardware when it was released to the extent that many people couldn't even run it at all without disabling cores!!!
Even with the v1.03 beta patch (a final build was never released due to EA disbanding Pandemic shortly after the game's release) the game was still a little cranky on ATI cards. Seems to work much better on NVIDIA cards from my playing experience. What a great game it is too; I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Shame about the scrolling map bug though. The Saboteur is a bit of flawed gem IMO. Sure it's still a little buggy e.g.
