Emerson Flute Serial Numbers
There are no online serial number records for Emerson flutes so it is difficult to say what age this flute is. The main body is engraved with the Emerson logo. The Emerson Flute, made by Conn-Selmer, Inc. Has a database on line to reference your serial number. According to their website, if you take the first digits of the serial number and add 50, you'll get the year manufactured.
I am relatively new to the flute (some noodling around on the Irish flute), and just won at auction an Emerson ELD. *The seller said the pads were okay (check), as was the case (check), it had some scratches on the headjoint (yes, oh well), but he could not find the serial number. *If I'm reading it right it's 13401. *And there is a single number 1 on the other side of the body. *How old is this thing?
*Quite, quite playable. *The ELD designation seemed to encompass a whole range of Emerson flutes from student to artist. *I don't know. *Can someone help me date the instrument, tell me what it might be made of? Cimplicity license crack. *It sounds gorgeous, far nicer than the flute I tried about two years ago.
